SEMINAR/TRAINING: Introduction to the group dynamics of ‘difference’

Saturday 31st October 2020 at 16h00 (GTM) for non-members (13h30 GTM for members).
In this workshop we will use group analytic ideas to think about issues of Otherness and difference. With a particular focus on race and some intersectional thinking, we’ll consider the dynamics and processes which can get into motion within groups, workplaces and social structures in relation to Otherness.
Upon completing this course participants will be able to;
*Better understand basic group analytic concepts and premises
*Use these concept to consider how groups deal with ‘difference’
*Use and apply practical strategies to mitigate the adverse group dynamics related to racial difference
The course which will follow a workshop format is scheduled to last 2 hours (with 15 minutes debrief at the end). All courses delivered by Race Reflections are challenging. They make sense use of experiential, theoretical and reflective methods and ask participants to get involved intellectually, emotionally as well as in an embodied way.
This course will be delivered via Zoom.
Pre-reading will be encouraged but is not mandatory. Resources will be sent to attendees nearer the time.
