THE RACE MATRIX 8-WEEK ORGANISATIONAL SKILLS-BUILDING PROGRAMME 

The RACE Matrix™ is a depth formulation model designed to work with inequality and injustice related racialised and intersectional harm in organisations.

Who is the 8-week foundation training for?

It is aimed at organisations committed to systemic, sustainable racial equity.

The programme is designed for experienced HR, DEI professionals, internal leads, consultants seeking a depth-based, practical framework to identify, prevent, and act on racial and intersectional harm. A basic understanding of analytic ideas would be useful though capacity may be built through preparotory reading, if necessary.

Programme Structure

The programme is delivered online in small groups from 18: 15 to 21;30 as follow;

18:15 – 19:45 → Training / interactive seminar

19:45 – 20:00 → Break (15 min)

20:00 – 21:00 → Reflective / consultative group

Initial Delivery Period

We are planning to deliver the programme to the first small cohort on eight consecutive weeks starting from Wednesday 20 May 2026 and ending on Wednesday 8 July 2026. This programme is likely to only run once or twice a year.

 

PROGRAMME OVERVIEW

Week 1 – Foundations: Intersectionality & racial harm

Ground the programme in intersectionality as the basis of equity

Introduce the RACE Matrix™ and its multi-level approach

Ethical boundaries and safe engagement with racialised harm

Tool introduced (licensed): Orientation & Scope Tool

Outcome: 

Understand where and how racial harm may show up in your organisation and the ethical limits of intervention

Week 2 – Recognising Covert & Subtle Harm

Identify hidden, subtle, and invisibilised forms of racial harm

Learn to detect patterns across individuals, teams, and institutions

Understand organisational structures that may perpetuate harm

Tool introduced (licensed): Harm Mapping Tool

Outcome:

Spot early warning signs of inequity and prevent escalation

Week 3 – Institutional Defence & Resistance

Explore why organisations resist change, and how defensive mechanisms maintain inequity

Learn to read resistance as data, not opposition

Tool introduced (licensed): Institutional Defence & Resistance Tool

Outcome:

Reshape toxic dynamics while limiting and managing backlash

Week 4 – Lived Experience Integration

Integrate employee experiences ethically and safely

Apply trauma-informed practices to prevent harm while gathering evidence

Tool introduced (licensed): Lived Experience Integration Framework

Outcome:

Use lived experience responsibly as actionable insight for formulation

Week 5 – Risk, Boundaries & Escalation

Assess institutional risk, set safe boundaries, and know when to escalate

Prevent re-traumatisation or misuse of the tools

Tool introduced (licensed): Institutional Risk Assessment Tool

Outcome:

Safely apply the RACE Matrix™ while protecting employees and organisational integrity

Week 6 – Internal Formulation: Multi-Level Organisational Insight

Translate micro, meso, and macro data into a clear organisational formulation

Prioritise areas for intervention based on risk, severity, and feasibility

Move beyond symbolic or cosmetic changes

Tool introduced (licensed): Multi-Level Organisational Formulation Tool

Outcome:

Create a comprehensive map of harm, its sustaining dynamics, and actionable priorities

Week 7 – Accountability, Evaluation & Sustaining Change

Develop indicators of meaningful change and accountability frameworks

Track progress, evaluate interventions, and refine strategies

Tool introduced (licensed): Accountability & Evaluation Framework

Outcome:

Ensure organisational initiatives produce real, measurable, and sustainable outcomes

Week 8 – Integration, Forward Planning & Licensed Use

Consolidate learning across tools and insights

Plan ethical, safe, and independent application of the RACE Matrix™ over 12 months

Set clear support and escalation pathways

Tool introduced (licensed): Integration & Forward Planning Tool

Outcome:

Confidently use the RACE Matrix™ independently while maintaining ethical safeguards

Pricing Options

The RACE Matrix™ involves licensed, ethically governed work with racialised and intersectional harm. For this reason, pricing is tailored to ensure safe, appropriate, and effective application
The option below is for an internally-led delivery following the 8-week training.

The fees below are indicative and provided for guidance only. They are applicable to small organisations requiring minimal guidance, oversight and consultation.

For more complex organisations, fees will be agreed based on size, scope of application, risk, and level of support required.
