COURSE AIMS

This is the extended version of the launch workshop which proved to be extremely popular. In this course we will cover in more detail, conceptualisations of whiteness, the impact of racism, including intergenerational effects; as well as resistance and self-care strategies.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

Upon completing this course participants will be able to;

*Better understand how whiteness/racism are conceptualised and how they manifestation

*Assess the impact and lived experience of racial oppression

*Use and apply practical strategies to mitigate the adverse psychological consequences of racism on the self and on others

DELIVERY FORMAT

The course which will follow a workshop format is scheduled to last 2 hours (with 15 minutes debrief at the end). All courses delivered by Race Reflections are challenging. They make sense use of experiential, theoretical and reflective methods and ask participants to get involved intellectually, emotionally as well as in an embodied way.
This course will be delivered via Zoom.

Pre-reading will be encouraged but is not mandatory. Resources will be sent to attendees nearer the time.
