REFLECTING ON RACIAL TRAUMA TOGETHER

WHO & WHAT IS THE GROUP FOR?

This is a reflective and learning space for people committed to deepening their understanding of racial trauma, its clinical and social impacts, and how it is experienced, interpreted, and responded to in practice, institutions, and everyday life.

It is also a space for decolonising our ways of thinking and working—moving beyond narrow, individualised understandings of distress toward more relational, historical, and structurally informed approaches to racial trauma and healing.

There are very few spaces dedicated to thinking about racial trauma critically, in depth and in community. This group provides such an opportunity.

THE CORE OFFERING

It brings together three core elements:

1. Reflective and decolonial inquiry forum
A consistent group space to reflect on racial trauma as it appears in practice, relationships, institutions, and everyday life. The emphasis is on developing decolonised ways of understanding distress, context, and response, moving beyond individualised or reductive frameworks.

2. Peer support and collective holding
A structured opportunity to connect with others engaged in similar work. This space recognises that work with racial trauma is often emotionally and professionally isolating, and offers ongoing peer support, shared reflection, and collective care.

3. Expert input and guided consultation
Participants will have access to specialist insight, reflective guidance, and consultative discussion, helping to link theory, lived experience, and practice in a grounded and supportive way.

FORMAT & LOCATION

This is a fully online reflective learning community delivered via Zoom. Monthly online reflective group (Zoom) will take place every last Monday of the month
18:30–20:00 (London time)

These monthly sessions will provide a consistent space for reflective practice, peer support, decolonial thinking, and shared exploration of racial trauma in both practice and lived experience.

The focus is on developing a sustained reflective community online, where we can think together, be supported in our work, and deepen our understanding of racial trauma in context.

START

The group will start on Monday 28th September 2026.

To support depth, trust, and continuity, members are asked to consider committing for a minimum of one year
