A RACIAL TRAUMA DAY WORKSHOP FOR BLACK WOMEN ON SATURDAY 27TH APRIL 2024 10H00-16H00
AT Race Reflections Spaces, 100 Avebury Boulevard, Milton Keynes MK9 1FH
Race Reflections is a thought leader on Racial Trauma and on working with the impact of whiteness in the clinic.
In light of recent events and in particular, the ongoing antiblack and misogynoir campaign targeted at Diane Abbott, we have been creating opportunities to build community resistance and collective healing around racial trauma.
This day workshop is provided to support black women who have been affected by the violence, who would like to be part of a space to reflect and learn about racial trauma so they may better look after themselves and in turn, their communities.
WHO IS THE DAY WORKSHOP FOR?
The day workshop is suitable for black women who are lay-members or members of the public at large. That is to say, black women who are not mental health professionals. We will run separate professional spaces.
Preparatory reading is encouraged, you may want to start by reading Living While Black by Guilaine Kinouani (additional resources may be provided upon request).
