The most anticipated book and the event of the year are coming!
Join Race Reflections and Guilaine Kinouani for the first-ever, in-person event. To celebrate the community that has made the social enterprise’s success possible, and to mark the launch of Head Disruptor and Director – Guilaine Kinouani’s second book – ‘White Minds’, we are inviting Race Reflections members and the wider community to join us for a day of masterclasses on whiteness.
The phenomenal event will take place in London, at Indra Studios, Hackney Wick, on Friday, 15th of September 2023.
The day boasts masterclasses, (with special guests) delivering teachings on the ultimate ways to unearth, understand and dismantle white supremacy, led by none other than Guilaine Kinouani herself.

PROGRAMME (Click to download White Minds Masterclass Series full programme)
Arrival coffee & tea 10.30 am – 10.45 am
Masterclass 1: 11.00 am – 12.30 pm
Masterclass one will consider the relationship between whiteness time and space. In particular, the recurrent embodied sense of stuckness will be put under sharp focus that the racialised other experiences when it comes to racialised violence.
Lunch 12.30 pm – 13.30 pm
Masterclass 2: 13.30 pm – 15.00 pm
The second masterclass will consider the relationship between gender and whiteness. It will look at the constructions of both systems as well as the intersections with racialised violence. In particular, we will explore the role of white womanhood in the upholding of white patriarchy.
Energy Break: 15.00 pm – 15.30 pm
Masterclass 3: 15.30 pm – 17 pm
The final masterclass will focus on what Guilaine terms ‘proximal dynamics’ which refer to the ambivalent relationship those with proximity to power (here, whiteness) have with both liberation and supremacism. We’ll consider the rationale for these dynamics, how they may express themselves and their role in the structure of white supremacy.
Comfort Break: 17.00 pm – 17.30 pm
Pre-Book Launch Reading & Signing: 17.30 pm – 18.30 pm
Party & Celebratory Drinks: 18.30 pm – 21.00 pm
