Intersectional Environmental Webinar

Colonialism, the exploitation, theft and destruction of land, people and natural ecology has facilitated the mass industrialisation of the Global North resulting in catastrophic, irrevocable damage to our planet. However, the scale of this damage does not affect us equally. Communities of colour, particularly in the Global South are forced to bear the burden of this industrialisation. Disproportionately exposed to environmental hazards, their land used as ‘sinks’ for waste and refuse exported from countries in the West.

Climate change therefore fits within a wider discussion about environmental justice, structural racism and thus racial trauma. In this interactive webinar, these issues will be explored. The Webinar will be facilitated by Leone Alexander.
